There's more trouble in the world
sometimes it seems like hate rules
They say the end is near
and damn, I just found you.
So, if this world ends tomorrow
and forever is at last to be, you see,
I believe forever, you will be with me.

So, this world may end tomorrow
I know love never dies,
It's just missing the one you love
that tears you up inside.  And,
If you don't believe in forever,
I hope forever keeps you free.
You see, I believe forever
you will be with me.

And how long is forever, well
we'll just have to see, but
forever seems like a pretty good place
if you'll go there with me

And if another road takes you there
my hearts the door that welcomes you home
and if you keep me in your heart
you'll never be alone
And if there's miles and miles between us
click your heels and count to three

I believe we must come to an easy understanding
that we are here to help each other along
and in the process, to shed some love and kindness
and for all of our voices, to sing a peaceful song.

                Long Delta Lady
.
She came one day in the middle of May when the smoke was in my eyes
On the banks of the river called the Mississippi, below the Memphis rise
She was in the mood for something new and I didn't waste any time
And I just went crazy for the long delta lady when she walked into my mind
.
I said, "How do you do," she said "How are you?" I said, "I'm doing fine".
But when she looked at me I knew she couldn't see the lonliness inside
I had been down from some bad turnarounds that left me high and dry
And I was hoping that these days of the Memphis In May would answer all my whys
.
Then the day went dark down at Tom Lee Park as I watched the river roll
But I just could seem to extinguish this dream of the beauty of her soul
And as I watched her disappear into the chilled night air I knew there would come a time
When the long delta lady would return and maybe answer all my whys

Well it's sunset time on the Mississippi
looking down around the bend
and that pastel sky looks like cotton candy
from up here on the Riverbluff Inn
Yeah, an ole magnolia is smelling sweet
how that river breeze cools my soul
and I'm just taking time to watch that
good Lord of mine put another day
down the hole.
